Avijit Dutta (b. 1974) lives and works in Kolkata.

His practice unfolds in the quiet folds of spaces between memory and perception—where images  do not assert themselves immediately, but emerge slowly, as if  silently recalled rather than seen.  Trained in painting at Rabindra Bharati University, Dutta has developed a visual language defined by measured restraint and a lyrical sensitivity.

Working  primarily with  watercolors and tempera, he creates surfaces that are at once delicate and enduring—where pigment seems to breathe, and form remains intentionally unresolved.
