Life is a Deck of Cards
In Life is a Deck of Cards, Avijit Dutta uses the symbolism of playing cards to reflect on the unpredictable journey of human life. Through fifty-four individual works inspired by a complete deck, the exhibition traces phases of innocence, ambition, struggle, memory, and transformation, where destiny can shift within moments — whether one is a king, queen, ace, or joker.
Blending nostalgia with contemporary reflection, the artist incorporates vintage photographic imagery and Victorian-style frames to evoke memories of bygone eras and fading human values. Extending his exploration of “Timeless Passage,” the exhibition becomes both a visual narrative and a meditation on life as a game of courage, chance, and participation, where meaning lies in how we choose to play.
